PopGraine Our philosophy

Our philosophy

PopGraine embodies a humanistic, international, artistic, and cultural endeavor.

Drawing inspiration from popcorn, PopGraine symbolizes the nurturing of culture, allowing it to blossom at its own pace, as we firmly believe in the absence of any hierarchy between subcultures or elitist cultures. Popular culture deserves as much recognition in theaters as classical texts or contemporary creations. Likewise, these cultural forms can resonate across all social strata.

Beneath this name lies the ambition to establish cultural cafes across three different countries (initially): one in Canada, one in South Korea, and one in France. Our aim is to create a third space that accommodates artists in residence, showcases newly crafted performances, and serves as a platform for emerging talents.

We envision this space as a haven for artists to develop their next projects, where patrons and audiences can observe their creative process and witness the magic unfold in the making of a performance, artwork, or any creative endeavor, whether in performing arts or visual arts. Additionally, we aim to offer diverse spaces, such as reading areas and art exhibitions, to promote the most inclusive and diversified access to culture possible.

Our goal is to eliminate any apprehension about cultural spaces, ensuring that everyone feels welcome regardless of their background.

We aspire to create a safe and inclusive environment for all, including artists, women, and children. Our ultimate desire is to provide a space that grants access to culture, democratizes artistic creation, and facilitates the circulation of artworks and artists worldwide.
